Coffee Houses
The Lubbock Yellow Pages includes this list of coffee houses. My favorite is the Coffee Haus on University, where I partook of their Rocket Fuel (a frozen delight). It's on University, not quite a 1/2 mile from the hotel.
Depot District
You'll find a number of eateries in the Depot District. The Buddy Holly Center is also located in this area. Restaurants to choose from here include:
- Hub City Brewery
- Bleacher's (sports bar)
- Tom's Daiquiri Place
- Windmill Grill
Hub City Brewery
Hub City, located in the Depot District, had excellent beer and food, at least the last time that I was there. You'll need a car to get there (or to be very determined). Here are some links to more detail:
The Tahoka Highway
From Michael Salvo:
The town of Lubbock is "dry", but it's only a few minutes on the loop to "Lil' Las Vegas," here we can all anonymously buy beer, booze and tamales (Pedro's are the best) at thedrive-through liquor stores. And restaurants and bars sell beer, wine and liquor in Lubbock. never did quite understand how "dry" really translates as "monopoly supplier."
